Since the sudden outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Wuhan City at the end of 2019, cases quickly spread across China, bringing the most populous country and second largest economy in the world to a halt. Despite China’s effective effort in containing the outbreak since late January, COVID-19 have now been found in 120+ countries within two months, taken more than 9000 lives. 140k+ cases have been confirmed outside China as of March 19. The transmission of the virus in the U.S. is skyrocketing and jumped to over 9000. The spatiotemporal I/UCRC brings together powerful taskforces of international researchers and implementation strategies to rapidly respond to this crisis, for saving lives and protecting the health of our citizens. This project will utilize the innovative research results from the past 7 years’ investment by NSF and center members, including other federal agencies and industry, to stand up this gateway and a spatiotemporal platform to support rapid response to COVID-19. The following is the architecture for this gateway.
